Why seek counselling or psychotherapy?

We all go through difficult periods. At these times it can be helpful to talk to someone who is not involved in your everyday life. You may be feeling lost and rudderless, feel desperately lonely and in turmoil, confused, in pain, angry, or you might be feeling nothing at all. You may feel that you have lost connection to your soul. Therapy can help you gain perspective and make the pain you are suffering bearable. Working with a therapist may also make you feel less isolated and alone. My hope is that we can develop a trusting relationship that will help you build emotional muscle and will enable you to live life more fully.


How long will it take?

It depends on how far you want to go in the quest of understanding yourself. Usually the longer an issue has been around, the longer it takes to get to the heart of the matter. But there is a time and a place for everything. Your current situation may not make it possible for you to commit to a long period, or you may not feel ready. We could go part of the way and you can always come back. You decide how long you want to stay in therapy.
